This 14-day Kenya and Tanzania safari offers you a chance to discover the most exotic destinations and diverse wildlife found in East Africa’s wildlife sanctuaries. The safari begins with a visit to the picturesque Lake Naivasha, which offers a serene ambiance and an excellent spot for birdwatching and boat rides. You will also explore the magnificent Lake Nakuru National Park, which is home to the endangered rhinoceros species and thousands of flamingos.

Your next destination will be the World-famous Masai Mara, where you will see the Big Five and witness the Great Migration, one of nature’s most jaw-dropping events. The tour then takes you to the Serengeti National Park across the border in Tanzania, where you will enjoy open savannahs, abundant wildlife, and the highest concentration of predators in Africa.

Next, you will venture into the heart of Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its breathtaking vistas and wildlife, including cheetahs, elephants, zebras and wildebeest. You’ll also visit Lake Manyara National Park, which is known for its tree-climbing lions, and Tarangire National Park, famed for its enormous elephant herds and baobab tree studded landscape.

The final scene on your trip will be at the iconic Amboseli National Park, with a magnificent view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants and a vast variety of bird species, making it a perfect destination for wildlife photographers.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Naivasha – Afternoon Lake Naivasha Boat Safari and Crescent Island Walking Safari

Early morning after your breakfast, our guide will pick you up at 7:00am from your hotel in Nairobi to transfer Naivasha. You will be briefed first upon our 6 – day trip then embark a drive through scenic views of the Nairobi suburbs with an enroute stopover at the Great Rift Valley view point for photography. We then continue our journey to Naivasha through parallel scenic views of the Great Rift Valley to arrive to our booked lodge  in time for lunch and relaxation upon checking in. This afternoon we take on a boat safari on Lake Naivasha to visit Crescent Island for a guided walking safari. Crescent Island hosts grazers like the Giraffe, Zebra, Impala, Grants Gazelle, Common Waterbuck and Buffalo. After the amazing experience we return to accommodation dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Explore Lake Nakuru National Park on Full Day Game Drives 1h35 Drive

Today we explore Lake Nakuru National Park on Full Day Game Drives. We wake up early with morning breakfast to checkout our lodge then embark on a drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. We will arrive early enough at the park gate to start our morning game drive.

Lake Nakuru National Park encompasses the alkaline lake that is frequently visited by hundreds of thousands of greater and lesser flamingos, providing an amazing bird spectacle. More than 400 bird species in all have been recorded. Nakuru has been declared a black rhino sanctuary. Other wildlife includes lion, leopard, Rothschild’s giraffe (introduced), waterbuck, reedbuck, hippo, baboon, pelican, and cormorant. After a rewarding full day of game drives, we will retire at our booked Lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara  – Evening Game Drives in Masai Mara

After breakfast, we say goodbye to Lake Nakuru to embark on a drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy yet another scenic drive through the scenic views of the Great Rift Valley before arriving to our booked accommodation to check in just in time for lunch and relaxation at camp. We later head out for our first evening game drive in the Masai Mara.

The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife reserve, and arguably its best. The park is dominated by open grassland, interspersed with rocky hills, acacia woodland, and riparian forest. Game viewing here is excellent and rewarding, from the big five to and a huge number of other various wildlife species are easily seen without much strain. At sun dawn we take advantage of the photographic moment then return to accommodation for dinner and overnight stay

Day 4: Full Day Masai Mara Wildlife Activities (Game Drives)

The next 2 days are spent game viewing in Kenya’s leading Masai Mara National Reserve. We will embark on two game drives; in the morning game drive and the Evening game drive with an option to carry picnic breakfast to spend the entire morning out in the wild.

Alternatively, we can choose head out early to later return to accommodation for late breakfast and stay for the lunch shortly after which we head back to search for the big five and other wildlife species.

Wildlife species in Masai Mara include: the Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, Wildebeest, buffaloes, zebras, jackals, spotted hyenas, topi, impala, Hartebeests, nat eared foxes, the crocodiles and hippopotamus of the Mara and Talek Rivers among others

We will have a full day to track the resident wildlife in Masai Mara National Reserve. After the thrilling day of magnificent game viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve, we retire at our accommodation for dinner and overnight stay

Day 5: Full Day Masai Mara Wildlife Activities (Game Drives)

This is yet another full day experience in the Mara, early morning after with our breakfast; we will embark on another series of game drives in other conservancies of Maasai Mara. It is guaranteed that wherever you go in the Mara, there is a different scenery and abundant wildlife to include the Masai giraffe, baboons, topis, Zebras, Wildebeest, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, hartebeests, buffaloes, hippopotamus, crocodiles, cheetahs, the big five and so much more.

After the thrilling day of game viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve, we head back to accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Masai Mara to Serengeti via Kenya-Tanzania land border crossing at Isebania

On this day, we bid farewell to the Maasai Mara and Kenya after an early breakfast, we take on an enroute game drive out of the Masai Mara to Isebania, Kenya – Tanzania Land border crossing Point. Please note that there will be a switch of vehicle and guide but this is seamless and should note distress you. After the immigration formalities are done with our guide taking care of all the necessary documentation, You will meet your new Tanzanian guide/driver and continue to Western Serengeti for game viewing all evening to later retire at our booked Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7:Western Serengeti into Central Serengeti (Seronera) & Southern Serengeti

Today is dedicated to a full-day game drives in The Serengeti. We embark on unlimited game drives from Western Serengeti all through to Central Serengeti Seronera Area. Home to highest populations of wilidlife in the Serengeti – Seonera is an excellent place to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs as other various wildlife species. After an unforgettable day, we will retire at our booked tented Camp dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Full Day Game Drives in Central & Eastern Serengeti

We Spend this full day exploring the vast plains of the Central Serengeti and Eastern Serengeti with a picnic lunch in the wilderness of the Serengeti, giving us a great opportunity to explore all through the kopjes and riverine areas.

Here we will hopefully see the Big Five of Africa (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo), as well as a dazzling assortment of other wildlife. After collecting full day memories in Serengeti National Park, we return to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The day starts with breakfast at the safari camp, as the sun rises. Then we take an enroute game drive through Southern Serengeti as we exit the park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor, taking in stunning views of the world’s largest unflooded caldera on the way down. The crater is home to the Big Five and almost every kind of big mammal found in Africa. After a rewarding game drive in this World Heritage Site, we drive out of the crater to transfer to our booked lodge  for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park

Early morning after breakfast, we will drive to Lake Manyara. This park offers a wide array of animals and birds, and taking in the bush scenery on game viewing drives. The national park is dominated by the Great Rift Valley Lake, a shallow alkaline lake attracting numerous water birds. Lake Manyara is best known for the huge seasonal flamingo flocks fringing its shores, along with various other waterfowl.

Lake Manyara National Park is also known for its tree-climbing lions, often spotted sleeping in the trees or in the shade below, as well as its big baboon troops. On our game drive, we lookout for elephants, hippos, buffalos, banded mongooses, monkeys, klipspringers, and numerous gazelle and antelope species. At sun down we retire at our booked accommodation in Karatu

Day 11: Explore Tarangire National Park

This morning we visit Tarangire National Park. Known for large elephant herds and the Tarangire river which flows all year round, Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s major National Parks. On arrival at the Park, We embark on game drives with a picnic lunch in the African bush. Tarangire hosts an array of wild animals, including lions and buffalos, as well as various antelopes, wildebeest, giraffes, and zebras. The national park covers some 2600km2 of wilderness, characterized by undulating plains dotted with baobab and acacia trees. After a full day of game viewing in Tarangire National Park, we retire at our booked Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Tarangire to Amboseli National Park via Tanzania – Kenya land border Crossing at Namanga

Early morning after your breakfast, we set off for a drive that takes us through Arusha City to transfer to Amboseli National Park via Tanzania – Kenya land border Crossing at Namanga.

Please note that there will be another switch of the vehicle and guide to meet a familiar face and vehicle of our Kenyan safari guide that we spent the first 6 days of safari with.

After the immigration formalities are done, with our guide taking care of all the necessary documentation, we shall continue our short drive to Amboseli. Upon arrival to the park, we enjoy an evening game drive to later retire at our booked Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 13: Full-Day Amboseli National Park Game Drives

Today we enjoy a full-day game viewing experience in Amboseli National Park.  Amboseli covers lush grasslands fed by the melting snow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Standing at 5896m above sea level the snow-topped mountain forms the backdrop to game viewing.

The Park also hosts some of Kenya’s largest elephant herds and is famous for its big elephant bulls with their impressive tusks. The Game Park also contains huge populations of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos and various antelope species, such as impala. Amboseli Park is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, jackals, warthogs and various other wildlife and bird species

Day 14: Morning enroute Amboseli Game Drives to Nairobi

This morning we enjoy breakfast and yet another morning game drive to later check out from our Lodge. We have lunch at noon then trace our route back to Nairobi.

Upon arrival to Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your booked hotel in Nairobi or the Aiport for your departure flight. This will mark the end of our 13-Day Magical Safari.
